Forman Wickes Wines

About me
Wine collector turned wine trader … this transformation was triggered once I discovered I had more wine in storage than I could ever hope to sensibly enjoy in my lifetime.
It all started 35 years ago when I was encourage to buy some cases of 1989 claret. As was so often the case back then the focus was with Red Bordeaux and White Burgundy. Soon after that I lived in Chicago for three years drinking and learning about iconic American and Tuscan wines. Then, gradually, as I explored wine further, Red Burgundies, Champagnes, and Rhone Valley wines were regular additions to my collection. Collecting had become a passion.
Nowadays I buy less and less and drinking older bottles becomes more of an intellectual pursuit. My collection has become mainly Italian (40%) and Burgundy (25%), followed next by champagnes (13%) and the Rhone Valley (8%).
